How UtiliKit stays free

Every tool on UtiliKit is free forever, with no accounts and no paywalls. To keep it that way, the site may earn revenue in two ways: a small amount of unobtrusive display advertising, and affiliate links — special links to products or services we mention. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

What this means in practice

  • Clearly labeled. Any affiliate link on this site is marked as such near the link, so you always know.
  • Honest recommendations. We only mention products we genuinely believe are useful — for example, password managers in our security guides. Commissions never buy a recommendation, and never inflate a rating.
  • No price difference. Buying through an affiliate link costs you exactly the same as buying directly; the commission comes out of the merchant's margin.

What this does not mean

Affiliate relationships do not change how our tools work, what our guides say, or what data we collect — which is nothing (see our privacy policy). Our first loyalty is to readers: if a product is not worth your money, we will not recommend it, commission or not.
